Walper Hotel featured in Globe & Mail

The Globe & Mail’s Architourist, Dave Leblanc, pens a thoughtful piece on Kitchener’s Walper Hotel, recognized with a Lieutenant Governor’s Ontario Heritage Award for Excellence in Conservation. He praises the restoration, stating, “when it comes to soul, the update of the iconic Kitchener hotel checks all the boxes: a Beaux-Arts building from 1893, originally designed by a local architect, receives an overhaul that is sensitive to its historical importance to the city.”

BNKC Architects led the conservation efforts on this project, while our practice, in collaboration with Jill Greaves Design, undertook the design and renovation of the 92 unique guest rooms and corridors.
