Toronto Star
'Living Under the Greenest of Roofs', Kathy Flaxman, September 2008
Kathy Flaxman interviewed Heather Dubbeldam and other green roof advocates for this feature on home environments in the Toronto Star. Flaxman discussed the benefits of green roofs in a city like Toronto not only for homeowners but for the city structure as a whole. As Dubbeldam notes, “A green roof provides an insulation that mitigates that big [temperature] differential, making the inhabitants inside much more comfortable” and “Green roofs absorb water and slow this process [of stormwater runoff], dramatically reducing the detrimental environmental impact.”
