'Globe Real Estate: Thoroughly Modern Victorian', John Bentley Mays, July 2013
Through House is featured on the cover of this week’s Real Estate section from The Globe & Mail, as part of John Bentley May’s Column, “The Perfect House”. The project takes a cramped and dim Second Empire house from the late nineteenth century, and retains the historical beauty of the front facade while completely transforming within. As Mays notes, “The people at Dubbeldam have christened their project ‘Through House’, and the visitor understands why right after stepping over the threshold. All the elements of the interior…line up and carry the eye directly through the space.”
