Principal Heather Dubbeldam speaks at the 2024 Banff Session
On May 10th principal Heather Dubbeldam will be speaking at the 2024 Banff Session in Banff, Alberta during the Alberta Association of Architects biennial conference. Her presentation will feature our field research in Scandinavia on environmental and social sustainability and the profound impact it has had on our approach, design research, and built work. She will also be presenting some of our current design research developing approaches to address the shortage of housing options in urban areas by proposing incremental, rapid solutions to increase density, with an emphasis on supporting liveability for inhabitants.
Founded in 1956, the biennial Banff Session brings together over 400 architects, interior designers, academics, and students to the stunning Rocky Mountains of Alberta to network, learn and advance the professions. The 2024 Banff Session theme, Rebuild, will explore the role of architects in developing urban resilience in the face of climate change, reconciliation and how the design professions can rebuild relationships and work towards diversity, equity and inclusion, and how we can rebuild using green building technologies to reduce environmental impact.
