Dubbeldam team members participate in this year’s BIPOC Portfolio Collaboration

Principal Heather Dubbeldam and Associate Scott Sampson take part in this year’s BIPOC Portfolio Collaboration, an annual event as part of DesignTO. Canadian architects and designers are participating in this collaborative review of resumes and portfolios to assist the next generation of architects and designers with the next steps of their careers. Students will be granted a half-hour review session with two professionals within the fields of architecture, interior design, landscape architecture or architectural technology. This will be an opportunity for students to engage in conversations with members of the design community while refining their interview skills.

There is a notable disproportionate representation of Black, Indigenous and Persons of Colour (BIPOC) within the architecture and design professions. Dubbeldam is committed to participate in mentorship and community engagements to further enrich the design professions with a variety of cultural views and practices. The second virtual BIPOC Portfolio Collaboration as part of the 2022 DesignTO Festival is hosted by Gensler Toronto, the Black Architects and Interior Designers Association (BAIDA), and Building Equality in Architecture Toronto (BEAT).
