Long Lake Cottage featured in Metropolis Magazine

We are honoured to see our Long Lake Cottage project featured in Metropolis Magazine, a publication known for its focus on design innovation and environmental responsibility. Written by Sophie Sobol, the article explores the project’s approach to off-grid living, environmental responsiveness, and its relationship to the northern Ontario landscape.

Set on a secluded peninsula, the cottage is conceived as a year-round retreat for a multigenerational family. Its two levels respond directly to the site – an elevated living space among the treetops, with bedrooms below that open onto the forest floor. Locally milled, sustainably harvested wood and an integrated solar energy system support a low-impact design shaped by climate, seasonality, and place.
