Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto awards our practice with renovation and expansion of their heritage golf club building

We are thrilled to announce that our practice has been selected for the renovation and addition project at the historic 19th-century clubhouse of the Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto in Thornhill. Founded in 1924 by Ada Mackenzie, a trailblazing figure in women’s golf, the Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto remains North America’s sole private golf club established by and for women.

This project holds profound significance for Principal Heather Dubbeldam, herself a female architect in a traditionally male-dominated profession, echoing Ada Mackenzie’s pioneering spirit from over 75 years ago. Beyond its architectural scope, the club stands as a symbol of female strength, ingenuity, resilience, and sisterhood.

The project involves renovating and expanding the existing clubhouse to meet current capacity needs and enhance member experiences. This includes the restoration of the original 100-year-old clubhouse and the addition of new facilities such as an expanded kitchen, service areas, and a new dining room designed for hosting tournaments and other club events.
